A children’s day care centre is a dynamic social organism. To reflect this, the artistic concept is based on the children’s active participation in the realisation of the artwork. Light as an elementary form of energy and source of life is central to the work. A source of energy for the kindergarten, it is thematised in two ways: By playing with mirrors and sunlight, the children themselves become sources of energy or reflectors; at the same time, part of the energy generated in the photovoltaic roof is channelled directly into ten electrically illuminated light boxes, (each 50 x 255 x 50 cm).
